Happy and Healthy Heart Insurance

I recently saw one insurance company’s advertisement for cardiac insurance. Here’s what they write:

The Cardiac Insurance Ad

“Globally, there is a noticeable increase in the number of people suffering from heart diseases, irrespective of their age. According to WHO, cardiovascular diseases have become one of the top reasons for deaths globally, taking approximately 17.9 million lives per year. Generally, cardiovascular diseases happen due to heart and blood vessel’s disorders, including raised blood pressure levels, glucose levels, etc.

“A few major reasons of this surge in number people with heart diseases are the changing eating habits, lifestyle rising stress level, etc. Usually, the inactive lifestyle results in obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc., ultimately affecting heart health, may cause heart strokes, cardiac arrest, etc. Once people catch hold of such diseases after a thorough diagnosis, a considerable amount of money is required for the treatment. Therefore, it is essential to buy heart insurance or cardiac health insurance to fight such challenging situations and have readily available finances for the treatment.

“Generally, acute heart diseases include myocardial infarction, refractory heart failure, cardiomyopathy, etc. To get cover for such conditions, it is essential to buy health insurance for heart disease to handle these emergencies in a better way. ” End of quote.

Here’s what the company offers, and again I quote:

*In-patient treatment

*Doctor/hospital for a second opinion covered

*96.43% Claim Settlement Ratio FY 19-20

*Cashless hospitalization at 7200+ hospitals

*No room rent restrictions on MediCare Premier/MediCare

What Really is Conventional Cardiac Insurance?

The company invites you to contact them for a quote. They don’t list the prices of their various cardiac insurance policies because you’d be turned off on the spot. But at any rate, what are you getting for the high price of cardiac insurance?

You are not insuring your heart’s health. Instead, you are insuring yourself once you lose your heart’s health. No insurance company can insure you a healthy heart.

A Better Idea

I have a better idea for you. Did you ever ponder that the Almighty sometimes gives us a reminder about a blessing in life that we might have inadvertently taken for granted? Some people live an entire lifetime without ever thanking Hashem for their healthy heart. They think that their lives run on automatic pilot. It’s not like that. Every single heartbeat is a product of Hashem’s personal Divine direction of our lives down to the tiniest detail. Yes, it’s the Almighty Who is personally massaging each of our heart’s. He is the Divine pacemaker. He alone determines what our diastolic and systolic numbers will be every single second. It’s mindboggling just to ponder.

If you want to maintain a healthy heart, don’t take it for granted. Every day, even multiple times a day, thank Hashem for your heart health. The more we thank Him, the more He gives us more reasons to thank Him. Thanking Hashem for our heart health is the very best cardiac insurance there is, and it doesn’t cost a cent.

One more thought: to maintain a healthy heart, learn to eat healthy. Stay away from junk food, chemical additives and empty carbs. Exercise regularly too. And, with thanking Hashem for your heart health, you’ll live till the ripe old age of 120 years and two days. Why the two additional days? We don’t want you to die on your birthday. Take care and G-d bless always.

With thanks to Hashem (and Rabbi Brody’s inspiration) I am eating better, exercising more, thanking Hashem daily and BH enjoying vibrant good health today. Take care of your heart people!
